Students at St. Mary's College of California found an answer to this pressing question Wednesday when teams of men and women competed to cram as many bodies as possible into an empty phone booth on the campus green. The phone booth-stuffing competition took place 50 years after Life magazine published a now-famous photograph of 22 St. Mary's students — all men — piled on top of one another in a phone booth, a popular college fad in the late 1950s. I own a life-size cardboard print of the famous Life magazine photo. Two of the faces are cut out of the print, allowing people to stick their heads through and pose. It is really very funny to see.
