You are correct. PTS picked up Verizon’s payphones in the subway system, at Broadway and off Broadway theaters, department stores, and a number of other NYC locations. G-Tel owns payphones at transit hubs such as the Port Authority and both the major airports. Most outdoor curbside payphones are owned by Titan, with CBS Outdoor (formerly Van Wagner), Telebeam, and Vector filling out the balance. American Payphone folded, BAS appears to be in the process of following suit. I don’t know the status of TCC Teleplex, EHUC, Coastal, AMF, NYC Payphones, or Crescent Star.
