Fresh LinkNYC Carnage

I had not seen this kind of damage to a LinkNYC machine in some time, though I’ve not paid as much attention to these machines as in times past. They remain about the same as ever in terms of reliability. Sometimes a phone call works, sometimes it does not. You just never know what to expect.

I had the misfortune of taking a call from someone calling from one of these kiosks. It was on a busy street and it may well be the worst phone call experience I ever had. Both of us had to scream to be heard over the ambulance and fire sirens. I had to ask her to repeat virtually every sentence she said because it got overtaken by street noise. I found myself shouting, possibly louder than I ever had. It was just a horrible way to communicate, all while I know my voice is booming out onto the street for all to hear, when they can.

Here is some visual noise of a single LinkNYC advertising display smashed to hell. Someone really hated this thing. Other Link machines in this vicinity were unmolested. Maybe they are next.
