This data purports to illustrate how many of the tablet devices on the approximately 2000 LinkNYC kiosks are presently not working. This data is published with a huge caveat: I do not believe it to be accurate. I do not believe it represents even a general approximation of how many LinkNYC tablets are not working at this time. If this data serves any real-world purpose, I do not know what that purpose is. The data is almost entirely incorrect and kiosk locations that never existed, such as 1419 6th Avenue, are included. More comments are found below this table.
Unable to retrieve data at this time.CityyBridge, the consortium of companies that put LinkNYC on our streets, provides this data to the City’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI), which publishes it to the City’s Open Data portal. If this page accomplishes anything useful I hope it helps people discover Cyclomedia, the surprisingly unknown alternative to Google Streetview in New York City. Clicking any of these tablet locations will send you to Cyclomedia’s advertising-free imagery of the kiosk location, with pretty much pinpoint accuracy.
You could make the case that every single LinkNYC tablet should be listed on this report, seeing as every single LinkNYC tablet is riddled with features that do not work and glitches that make things unusable. I made this video recently which demonstrated just a few of the many features on the LinkNYC tablets that do not work and in some cases have not worked for years.
