Automatic Electric 3-Slot Rotary Payphone

This old payphone looks like a beauty, but an expensive one. An asking price of $725 seems mighty steep compared to similar listings. Prices like that are more likely seen when older turn of the century Gray branded payphones are in play. It looks like this phone has been well taken care of, though, and that it functioned as a real-world public pay telephone somewhere in the state of Wisconsin.

The phone number shown on this Automatic Electric unit does not appear in the Payphone Project’s archive of Wisconsin payphone locations past and present. A number fairly close to it (608-782-9055) shows that a payphone once existed at Hunter’s Last Chance, a bar at 150 South Leonard Street in West Salem, Wisconsin.

Seeing as this item ships from that town there should be little doubt that this payphone’s days as a working public phone occurred somewhere in the town of West Salem.

More details about this phone’s condition and specifics are found at the eBay listing page: Automatic Electric 3-Slot Rotary Payphone LPB-82-55
