“Nearly a billion calls were made from pay phones last year. One day last
week, two handfuls of people made pay phone calls from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center in downtown Fort Myers. Many
are poor or in their own transition, for better or worse.“
