Payphones Past

Phone Booth: Solvang, California

Handset missing. Phone book gone. It’s another abandoned phone booth. This useless but decorative structure lurks outside the Viking Garden Restaurant on Alisol Road in Solvang, California.

The style of the booth matches the décor of the rest of the town. Solvang is a Danish settlement, and the whole town is windmills and Hans Christian Anderson.

It does not look like this payphone location was listed on the Payphone Project, but a few others on Alisol Road are listed on the page of Solvang, California, Payphone Locations. Those payphones are probably gone or, like this one, useless.
