Prouty Beach Campground and City Park, located off Veteran's Ave, Newport, VT
Prouty Beach Campground and City Park, located off Veteran's Ave, Newport, VT - Prouty Beach Campground and City Park, located off Veteran's Ave, Newport, VT. Telephone is in good working order and has number 802-334-5003. This park has public beach access and canoe rental for a small fee. Seasonal camping available. An interesting note regarding the structure in which the phone hangs: there are many of these little 'information kiosks' throughout the state of Vermont. Many become places for nearby towns to post their news. They're billboards of a sort, and I believe this one was improperly constructed, as they usually read "Vermont Information" not "Information Vermont" as this one states. Also, the word information clearly does not fit the structure. In the background, you can see St Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, which stands at the highest point on the Newport peninsula, a recognizable beacon to boat travelers for over a century. Also visible in the water on the opposite shore, appearing just above the willow tree in the picture, is the Newport City Dock and Woof on the Wharf where the previous telephone submission was photographed. Partially Melted Rotary Dial Phone
Partially Melted Rotary Dial Phone - This picture of a partially melted telephone was taken at Miss Lyndonville Diner, 686 Broad Street, Lyndonville, VT. Apparently, this diner used to be a Sterling Diner, and suffered a fire in 1979. This was about all that remained, and the owners rebuilt around the shell of the old diner, taking the opportunity to expand the seating, saving their business. This phone hangs on the wall in the entryway. Photo and comments by Talegi

British Phone Box, Midtown Manhattan
This British-style Red Phone Box in Midtown Manhattan is a phone booth without a phone. It is evidently reserved for use by the security team at 437 Madison Avenue, though I have never noticed this booth being put to anything more than decorative use. As of December, 2013, there are four remaining outdoor, free-standing, fully functioning phone booths in Manhattan. One's definition of "Phone Booth" might extend to include this artistic creation on Third Avenue. A lonely old phone booth can still be seen on Yankee Pier, off of Governors Island, but fully-functioning outdoor phone booths are quite rare. Indoor phone booths are still pretty common in New York City, though most of them no longer have working payphones. The bright red British phone box in this picture does not count as a phone booth because it does not have a phone.
