Photographer Daniel Hopsicker, who has contributed hundreds of photos to this website, reports from West Virginia that the state has payphones aplenty, and most of them even work. In Charleston alone Daniel estimates “hundreds” of phones in working order. Most seem to be owned by Frontier.

The Jefferson Motel sports a fully intact Airlite phone booth with a working phone, and even with a door that opens and closes. In this year of 2021 that’s a relic tough to find.
