This payphone from China is made by a local Joint ventures, GATE Ltd (Guangzhou Ascom Telecommunication Equipment, JV between a local telecom manufacturer and Ascom Nordic from Denmark. The payphone shown on the picture is a GNT chip card payphone and they are sold all over the country. The design has been made by Ascom Nordic (they sold this product in different countries all over the world). Regards

Just outside the north gate of the Holiday Inn Ledo. The donkey drawn carts are quite a rare sight now in dowtown Beijing. This one caused the mother of all traffic jams as there was another just a bit outside the picture blocking the other lane. Photo and comments by Eric Lerdal
