Last Phone Booths of Manhattan Island, New York City

One of the last four outdoor phone booths in Manhattan.
These booths are located on West End Avenue at the corners of 66th, 90th, 100th, and 101st Streets.

Closing the door of this phone booth provides a cocoon-like feeling of muffled seclusion.
You can hear people talking outside but they sound like Mrs. Othmar, from Charlie Brown's grade school.
It is, in fact, a weird feeling to be on a Manhattan city street with such a level of privacy.
This cocoon-like feeling used to be common but as outdoor phone booths continue to disappear this feeling is rare.
