This payphone from China is made by a local Joint ventures, GATE Ltd (Guangzhou Ascom Telecommunication Equipment, JV between a local telecom manufacturer and Ascom Nordic from Denmark. The payphone shown on the picture is a GNT chip card payphone and they are sold all over the country. The design has been made by Ascom Nordic (they sold this product in different countries all over the world). Regards

Like phone booths, these old-fashioned crosswalk indicators are being phased out. They will be replaced by language-neutral LED-based signs. The LED signs are much brighter and much cheaper to operate. But I do prefer the soft, gentle light of the old-fashioned signs.
