Working Payphone. Four Seasons Lodge, New Hampshire.

This photo was posted to Twitter and Facebook by the folks at the Four Seasons Lodge in North Conway, New Hampshire. It got me wondering if other New Hampshire payphones and phone booths from The Payphone Project are still around.

The Payphone Project has only seen two other payphones from New Hampshire. Both those phones were found inside good old Airlight phone booths. One, from Geoffrey Niswander, was in Enfield, across from the “Stations of the Cross” site:

The other, from Erica Avery, was in Randolph, outside a Lowe’s gas station.

Payphone hunters might still be able to find the phone at the Four Seasons Lodge but neither of the others appear to have survived. A stroll through Streetview shows that the booth outside of Lowe’s is gone. It was last seen as late as July, 2011, in this shot:

The Enfield booth is also gone. The photo above is from 2011 but Google’s last capture of the booth appears to be from September, 2009, in this grainy Streetview shot from Route 4A.
